Promoting and supporting breastfeeding is a low-tech high-impact public health intervention that can reduce racial and ethnic disparities among LA’s diverse population. It is the best way to ensure that the most vulnerable newcomers to society get off to a promising start in life.
The BTFGLA is at the forefront of spearheading change in hospitals and the community. Its projects are varied and include professional education, networking with hospitals, workplace support, community outreach, and working in coalition with other breastfeeding organizations throughout the state and the nation.
