Los Angeles mom Dipa Shah-Patel is breastfeeding her 3-year-old. She observes that the previous generation who were told to stop breastfeeding and put babies on formula are very supportive when they see their daughters or daughter-in-laws breastfeed beyond one year, “I think intuitively they know how good breastfeeding is, for both mom and baby.”
