Thank you for joining us at BreastfeedLA’s 7th Annual Gala, Feeding the Future, Funding the Field. We heard about the amazing work being done to support lactating families in Los Angeles and beyond. When we consider the event’s theme, “Feeding the Future, Funding the Field,” we first think literally of feeding our milk to our future, our children. To feed someone or something, is to sustain it. As we look at the field of lactation, we can take it one step further and discuss the importance of funding the field, the work, the importance of diversifying the workforce, and hiring and paying for lactation professionals and proper insurance reimbursement of lactation professionals, so that all families can feed their infants in the way they desire, so that we can truly achieve infant feeding equity in our community. We hope our gala leaves you feeling as inspired as we are!
